Tips for a good motherboard Select

Choosing motherboard is very simple. As the name suggests "Motherboard" acts as a protective mother of CPU, RAM and other cards to be added, as
components stand firmly on motherboard.

Number of devices are integrated on the motherboard
in a period of time. Now, a week with the features of the motherboard board is more popular in the PC brand. On board integrated peripherals are offered by many PC manufacturers brand

The advantages of building your own PC Gaming

As already established, the custom gaming systems offer great performance numbers and slim design, but often are too expensive. Moreover, computer systems can be tailored more to what you're looking to spend, and the quality of ingredients is not always up to par. For players looking for the best possible performance to be achieved at the lowest cost, building their game system has become a more viable option, especially when a tower is Everythingnecessary.

A major advantage of building your own gaming system, the efficiency of IT costs. If you know where to shop for components, you place a lot less money to spend on your editing system that you would for a similar engine system of pre-made game. Furthermore, the above statement is true: the creation of your game system can control the quality of individual components. Many computer manufacturers save moneythe manufacture of their systems to cut corners on specific areas of the hardware on the motherboard onboard audio. With the purchase of each item separately, you will have the opportunity to compare the reviews and the reputation of each piece and determine which brand or incarnation is the best thing for the system. And 'possible and recommended that a system using only the highest quality components by purchasing each piece separately and assembling the platform gameyourself.

How do you build a computer?

Once decided on your game system, exactly how to build efficiently and effectively? The first step seems simple enough, but often those that show the Most problematic in the long term, determine what you want in your system directly from the start. Want to go for a complete top-game show-the-line or prefer to keep the setup to a moremidrange-level cost-effectiveness? Do you intend to run multiple monitors separately, or will a standard configuration screen is enough? What type of activity you see to your new computer system assembled? Gaming is about to head between these activities? Once you know exactly what you want from your new computer system, you can look at individual components.

The logical place to start when looking at computer components is the central processing unitunit, or CPU. The CPU is the heart of your computer system, and any decision of memory for the motherboard will be based on the choice of processor. The most important factor in choosing the correct processor remains the cost-performance. As mentioned in a previous article, the latest AMD dual-core 64-bit technology is the pinnacle of success, at least for now. The numbers generated by the performance of these processorsfound that the gaming experience is unmatched by them. However, the highest end processor alone costs more than $ 1,000. Obviously not everyone is willing to spend big for a particular component, regardless of how their performance. It 's still possible for a high-performance processor price considerably less than you a new game system will be in the coming years. Web sites like Newegg have some of the best prices in the computer industrycomponents, and allow both price and reputation of products to compare before buying.

Once you have the type of processor used for the game system, the next step is to select an appropriate motherboard. Again, the key is to establish what it is that system. Some motherboard chipsets work better with different types of processors, and you should research these things before a final decision. Furthermore, performanceand finally the configuration that you are looking for your motherboard to determine the selection. How much system memory you intend to run? What kind of graphical interface and you are tempted? The current PCI Express, so if you plan to run more than one of these cards, the selection of motherboards acceptable narrows considerably. Once you determine exactly what components you plan your system, selecting the right motherboardmuch easier.

Want to see very soon what the system memory, or RAM to determine to plan your system. This decision will help determine which of the various major components you will end up buying. If you are planning a new computer mainly for gaming, you should buy and at least 1 GB of RAM. The historic level of 512 MB of RAM is simply no longer acceptable for most applications the main game, especially when the rest of yoursystem uses many resources. For the high-end gaming, or if you plan to run most games at highest possible level of graphics, you probably want to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM. DDR2 memory is the latest standard. DDR stands for Dual Data Rate, and essentially means that the memory operates at an average speed than traditional SDRAM. DDR SDRAM was assessed at different rates, so check your motherboard specifications to see what memory speedsupports.

After determining the ideal configuration of the storage solution of the device (DVD-ROM, DVD-RW, hard disks, etc.), one of the last ways that you can directly impact the performance of your new game system is its graphics card. As mentioned, the current standard in terms of graphics card is PCI Express allows for maximum speed between card and the motherboard. Furthermore, both major graphics chipset manufacturers ATI and Nvidia, now supportMulti-card configurations. nVidia calls offering their specific SLI and ATI Crossfire refers to them as. Running multiple graphics cards together, you're much more about gameplay 3D processing capability, significantly enhancing the capability to play your new computer. In fact, Nvidia is now offering the Quad-SLI technology that allows users to simultaneously run four graphics cards. Of course, the cost associated with it and the heat is high enough,so this is not for everyone. The debate between nVidia cards and ATI is a topic for another discussion, their rivalry is almost as planes, such as Intel-AMD rivalry, and his faithful from both sides that will not be tempted. However, determining which video card setup you plan to use will ultimately decide which motherboard, computer case and power supply that will eventually buy.
Research, research, research!

If you have installed youryour computer, you should thoroughly research the process before any decisions to close. The components listed above will give you flexibility in your system's performance, but there are other important factors to consider including storage devices, a computer store and cooling solutions. The latter is particularly important components of today operate at higher temperatures dramatically than their predecessors, so it is important to do this at all costs. The actual assembly of parts is pretty easy, since They first enter and play, but again research is recommended for those who have never made or that the least bit 'uncomfortable with the process. If all else fails, go to a computer for the actual installation professional to use the new system of play.

Compared with mobile cabinet air-cooled liquid-cooled

Air Cooled

Why computers are available to the public, have come with the ability to adjust) the temperature of the central processing unit (CPU air cooling systems.

A system of air cooling is simply the use of fans built into the case of the computer used to cool computer components to keep from overheating and melting of the individual components of the computer.

In most cases the computer is on the airsystem. depending on the size of the computer box, you will determine the number and arrangement of the fans. Many of the small computer shops will be only one or two fans, one front and one on the back.

Many of the full tower computer case and half of all cases full tower computer has three or more fans built. At least one is in part, front and rear and a removable side panel of the case.

Benefits

Save Moneythe purchase of the case.
The fans are easy to replace when they burn.

Disadvantages

Constant cleaning of the case, how to move the dust and dirt from fans in the case when turned on.
Weak cooling liquid cooling, which prevents to optimize the potential of overclocking a computer system.
If the air is going into the computer from the surrounding air is already hot, the cooling efficiency of the computer is greatly reduced.
Fans use the power ofmake some more power, expansion slots and pull out from the other components of the computer system.

Liquid-cooled

Liquid cooling is the latest technology that becomes available to the computer world in terms of setting the temperature of your home computer system.

The cooling system uses water or liquid-like fluid flows through a series of "tubes" that line of computers for the temperature. Instead of regulating the circulation of air through the components, case was designed for the water to maximize the properties of heat dissipation system for no more than heating.

Benefits

Check the temperature more effectively than using fans.
Do not use the expansion slot in the food that makes a lot of fans built into the case.
Provides the ability to overclock the computer systems more effectively, because the temperature of the system is not so much a problem with the media more effectivelycooling.

Disadvantages

If the cooling system had to go poorly, you create a great test to replace.
Expensive to buy or to add something.

Conclusion

Trying to decide which case is the best option for you?

If you create the computer for the home office or school or society, a system of air cooling is the best solution. The reason I say this because it saves money for the purchase of the first case and using the computeron

is that everything is going to happen to overclock the system is not even considered. None of the above processes are underway to require overclocking the system can work.

If you try to a media system and / or gaming experience to maximize with respect to a liquid cooling system to create the best option. Overclocking the system will occur from excessivespeeds generate more heat. It would require more cooling fans produces the same effect as a liquid cooling system.

Planning and Choosing Parts For Your Carputer Build

A car computer (carputer) is an awesome system to install in your car. Not only can a carputer play music and videos, but you can also install navigation software, browse the web, download files, or do anything the PC you're using can do. However, many people don't know where to start, or they don't have the first clue as to what a carputer system consists of.

Here are some general tips and suggestions to get you started on your build. I know that when I was starting out, I had to learn the hard way by studying MP3car.com's forums. By the way, if you want to see carputer setups, want more info, or anything carputer related, MP3car.com is pretty much the defacto resource.

Motherboard/CPU:

Most people choose a mini-ITX form factor motherboard. Mini-ITX motherboards measure approximately 7" x 7", usually come with a CPU, and consume less power than their full size ATX counterparts, which make them great candidates for carputer usage. Mini-ITX motherboards come in lots of different configurations; there are some boards for Intel, some for AMD, and some are VIA based. Some boards can handle up to Core 2 Quad core CPU's, but expect to pay mucho $$$ if you want that level of performance.

For carputer usage, you're most likely not going to be encoding media, playing games, or running tank terrain simulations. Popular choices are the VIA C3 and C7 mini-ITX based motherboards, but they are being phased out by the growing popularity of the Intel Atom boards. Intel Atom processors are widely used in netbooks, but their low power requirements and low heat build up make them perfect candidates for carputer usage.

A very popular, best bang for your buck motherboard would be the Intel D945GCLF2, in my opinion. Not only does the board run cool, it also sports the dual core Atom processor, which in my experiences, is more than fast enough for carputer usage. Also, at less than $100 for both the CPU and motherboard, the deal is too good to pass up.

Power Supply:

The easiest, headache free solution is to use an intelligent DC-DC power supply. Intelligent power supplies have integrated startup/shutdown controllers that can sense and power your computer when you turn your car on/off. This is very important, because if the power supplies were "dumb", you would have to manually turn the carputer on/off every time to enter and exit the car. See how that can get annoying?

Intelligent DC-DC power supplies usually have a number of wires to be connected to your car's electrical system. This includes, at the bare minimum, a power wire, ground wire, and a remote wire. The remote wire is wired to a 12v source that only becomes active when your key is in the ignition. The most common usage is to use the remote wire from your CD player/head unit, that way, when the CD player turns on, so does the carputer.

As far as brands go, I would go with Opus. While they are a little more expensive than the M2/M3/M4 ATX power supplies, they are of higher quality. I had an older M2 ATX that would only put out 10.9 - 11.4 volts on the 12v rail (not good!). Since then, I replaced it with an Opus 120w and it's been running strong since 2006. I've also heard good things about the Pico PSU lineup. Pico PSUs are very small and connect directly to your ATX power plug on the motherboard taking up very little space. I would use a Pico PSU if you're extremely cramped for space, like in a glove box build.

Hard Drive and Optical Drive:

2.5" notebook hard drives are the most popular because they are small, use little power, and are rugged. 2.5" hard drives are built to take the everyday vibrations and shakes it would experience from being in a laptop, so it would make sense to use in a carputer where you'll be running over potholes, hopping curbs, etc. I've been using an old 2.5" 80GB IDE for at least 3 years now. I've dropped the hard drive multiple times and have it mounted pretty badly, but it's still running strong! 3.5" hard drives need much more power, and power is precious when we're talking about small, 90-120 watt power supplies.

Optical drives; who uses optical drives anymore? The only time I used an optical drive was for the initial operating system install. Even still, you could probably get away with installing your OS from a USB flash drive. As for daily use, I guarantee an optical drive would receive almost zero usage. Your music should be on your hard drive and a USB flash drive can be used to transfer files. The only thing I can see an optical drive being useful for is to watch DVDs. However, how often are you actually going to sit in your car and watch a DVD? The only time you can think of doing so is either when you're driving, or when you're stopped. If you're driving, do you really think it's a good idea to watch a movie on the way to work? If you're stopped, wouldn't you rather watch the DVD on your big screen in the house? At this point in our technological evolution, optical drives are becoming more and more of a novelty.

Memory:

Get the cheapest, highest capacity you can find. I have 1GB in my carputer and it runs pretty quickly on a full Windows XP install (I'll get to this later). 2GB would be even better, but it's not really necessary and I doubt you'll see a speed increase.

Enclosure/Case:

Despite what you may hear or think, a case is completely optional as long as you have your components mounted somewhat securely (meaning they won't bounce around like crazy while driving). Mini-ITX cases do exist and can be found at stores like Mini-box, MP3car, and Newegg. If you have the space, a slightly larger (but cheaper) micro-ATX case could be used instead.

Here's some proof to backup my claim that a case is optional. I've been running my setups in the glovebox like this for over three years with zero failures. The CPU temperature settles at around 50-60c depending on the outside temperature. The hard drive is mounted to top of the glove compartment using double sided adhesive. The motherboard and power supply simply sit on a peice of cardboard.

Operating System:

My advice is to run a full version of Windows XP instead of a "custom" XP build such as TinyXP. TinyXP is basically a stripped down Windows XP install which takes up less disk space, less memory, and loads a bit faster than a regular Windows XP install. However, I've noticed that TinyXP isn't perfect and is definitely not for everyone. Drivers are stripped out, services are missing, and in my experience, it's not the most stable OS either. Do you really want perform advanced troubleshooting for some odd program you want to work? Save yourself the headache and install a full version of Windows XP. Even on just 1GB of memory (2GB seems to be the standard now), XP runs silky smooth.

Then we come to the issue of whether to fully shutdown the computer or to have it hibernate when you turn off the car. Hibernation basically takes all the information present and stores it on the hard drive when the computer is turned off. Then, when the computer is turned on again, the data is restored from the hard drive and you're back to exactly where you were before you turned the car off. As nice as hibernation sounds, it's not very reliable in my experience. My hibernation image becomes corrupted every 10-20 or so startup/shutdown cycles. So, do yourself a favor and fully startup/shutdown for every session. A carputer on a full install of Windows XP doesn't take long to boot anyways, plus, it saves you a whole lot of headache in the future.

Front End:

Using a front end is completely up to you. The front end is basically a finger friendly program which contains all your media controls, media player, etc. It pretty much makes your carputer look like an Alpine or Pioneer double DIN touchscreen unit. The two most popular front ends are Road Runner and Centrafuse. Both are great players, but both have their negatives.

Road Runner is open source (free), but is a pain to setup correctly, and in my opinion, is too cluttered and doesn't look as good as Centrafuse. Centrafuse, however, is not free, but it's extremely easy to setup and works great right out of the box.

ATA-7 Versus Serial ATA Interface Cable - The Data Interface Cable War

In the world of computer technology, one of the most vicious battles that have been going on is the storage data transfer rate war. For decades, a lot of companies have been coming up with their storage sizes, rotation per minute on their storage, the maximum gravitational force, or simply G, that it can withstand, and the speed by which data is accessed or stored. Hard disk interface cables also received attention because of their data transfer rate capacities. From the flat ribbon type cable interface like the ATA-7, it evolved into a narrow cord called the SATA cable.

In the years past, having a one gigabyte storage space is more than adequate for most home computer systems. As application software becomes gigabyte-size hungry, however, the one gigabyte threshold became more irrelevant as the manufacturers rushed in to increase their drive sizes.

As the size of the disks increase, however, the need to access data more rapidly becomes of equal importance too. This is because the larger your disk size is, data access become snail paced. A lot of research has been done to find the right solution on how to further increase the speed of hard disks. Researchers found out that the ribbon cable which interfaces the hard disk to the computer seems to be the culprit behind this seemingly slow hard disk access. The reason is that the last update, ATA-7 for this type of cable only allows a maximum data transfer rate of one hundred thirty three megabytes per second.

This realization prompted and led to the invention of the new Serial ATA interface cable. This new interface connector sports a rather narrow, but a little bit thicker, cable as compared to the ATA-7 ribbon cable. Though the size may be a little bit small, it is compensated by its speed which is at around one hundred fifty megabytes per second. As with any new invention, a research immediately commenced with the purpose of inventing a higher form of SATA which will support data transfer rates of up to six hundred megabytes per second. Now that is more than three times faster than the ATA-7, and more than twice the speed than the present SATA.

Another benefit of SATA is that it is not clunky like the ribbon type ATA-7 flat cable. This makes it easy to install and also allows a lot of air to circulate within your CPU, a fact that is getting increasingly important as processors and RAM become faster thereby generating a lot of heat. Naturally, anything that can enhance the cooling capability of your PC is a welcome development.

With this, the problem of a snail paced data transfer is, for the moment, considered solved. Development for a new SATA, however, did not stop in anticipation of larger drives and demanding software. It is therefore safe to assume that the battle is not over yet.

Xbox 720 Outbreak

The Xbox 360 can be subject to a number of technical problems. Since the console's release in 2005, the product earned note in the press questioning its reliability and failure rate of the early consoles.[109][110][111] To aid customers with defective consoles, Microsoft has extended the Xbox 360's manufacturer's warranty to three years for general failure errors. "General Hardware Failure" is recognized by three adjacent quadrants of the ring flashing red. This error is often known as the "Red Ring of Death".[112] Since these problems surfaced, design modifications have been made to the console to improve reliability. All consoles manufactured after June 2007 have extensive revisions from the earliest units. Modifications include a reduction in the number, size and placement of components, and the addition of dabs of epoxy on the corners and edges of the CPU and GPU, as glue to prevent movement relative to the board during heat expansion,[113] and a second GPU heatsink to dissipate more heat.

Dell Studio XPS 7100 Review - Powerful Features and Great Design

Dell's recent addition to the desktop market, the Dell Studio XPS 7100 is phenomenal. Fitted with a powerful processor and with memory of 6GB, this machine is perfect for the heavy tasks and is especially ideal for gaming.

Physically, this desktop is very attractive. It is slim with matte silver front panels and black sides and top. While, like other desktops, most of the ports in this computer are fitted at the rear, the memory card reader is fitted at the front thus making it very easy and convenient to work with digital cameras. The desktop also has an optical drive for reading Blu-ray discs and for burning DVDs.

One of the biggest attractions of Dell Studio XPS 7100 is the low amount of noise it generates. Powerful machines like these which are packed with components tend to heat a lot when in operation and the fans fitted in them can be quite noisy. With this desktop, the noise level is surprisingly low. On the downside, however, this machine is a heavy power consumer.

With Dell Studio XPS 7100, the manufacturer has used Vision; AMD's marking method, in place of the GPU and CPU markings that we are used to on computers. While this might complicate thing for buyers, a little understanding of what vision stands for should help. There are four levels of Vision. The first level is simply known as Vision, the second level Vision Premium and the third and fourth levels are Vision Ultimate and Black respectively. The lower levels are ideal for light computer users - people who mainly use office applications - while the high levels are what heavy users, such as gamers, use.

Since this desktop is labeled Vision Black, it is ideal for heavy users. This is vouched for by the fact that it is fitted with one of the biggest processors in the market. The Dell Studio XPS 7100 also comes fitted with Fusion software. This software is used to boost the computer's efficiency and is especially ideal for gamers. When Fusion is activated, it shuts down any programs and processes that you are not using. This improves the performance of the machine.

At slightly over $1000, this machine is reasonably priced considering the efficiency with which it will serve the consumer. For a fuller understanding of what to expect from this desktop, it would help to read as many Dell Studio XPS 7100 reviews as possible.

Computer Maintenance - Improve Computer Performance and Reliability With a Cooler Computer

Many people these days are beginning to think of their computers as disposable. When their computer crashes, many times because of heat, they are on the fence about whether to fix it or trash it and buy a new computer. But understanding what makes a computer break before its time, will arm you with the knowledge to add years to the life of your computer. So wouldn't it make more sense to plan for the retirement of your trusty old computer rather than being forced to buy a new one because of an unexpected failure?

Simple Things You Can Do To Keep Your Computer Cooler

The greatest threat to computers (and electronics in general) is heat. Heat not only lowers the performance of your system, but it can cause electronic components to fail prematurely resulting in hardware failure. With that said, the first thing to check is the ventilation around your computer. Most standard computer desks have an enclosed compartment or cabinet for you to cook your computer in. If you must place your computer in an enclosed space, cut a hole in the back of the cabinet behind the exhaust ports of the computer. You should also ensure that your computer is at least 4 inches from the rear of the cabinet.

If you still have an older CRT monitor, make sure that you don't get tempted to use the top for a shelf which might block ventilation slots in the top of the monitor case. A heat issue with a CRT monitor can cause color shifting, flicker, and even total failure over time. Even an LCD Monitor has ventilation slots that shouldn't be blocked either. The next thing you can do almost always gets neglected, and this is to clean the dust from the interior surfaces of your computer. I recommend you clean the interior of your desktop computer twice a year. As for your monitor, and especially if it is a CRT model, I absolutely don't recommend that you attempt to open it up. CRTs have high-voltage circuits inside and should only be serviced by a qualified technician.

While dust might seem to be a superficial housekeeping issue to some, it can contribute to heat issues by acting as a blanket. Not only that, but some dust might be corrosive or might even conduct electricity which can lead to short circuits. If enough dust settles on the CPU heat sink, the dust will restrict airflow through the heat sink fins which is needed to take away the enormous heat generated by the CPU. And if too much dust accumulates on the CPU Fan blades, the weight of the dust can unbalance the blades and cause premature failure of the fan itself...this goes for any fan.

The easiest way to clean the inside of your system is to use a vacuum cleaner and hose (an antistatic vacuum if you have one). I also use a brush to knock down the dust and finish it off with a can of compressed air. Note: Always turn-off and also UNPLUG your computer before cleaning the inside. Also, if you don't know about ESD, at least touch a door knob and then an external metal part of your computer case before touching any components inside your computer. This will help to discharge any static electricity in your body.

I also recommend cleaning the cooling fan blades as well if they are accessible. I go as far as using Q-tips, although you might find it hard to clean the power supply fan unless you disassemble it, and I wouldn't recommend that unless you are qualified to service electrical parts. Warning: Power Supply capacitors can shock you even when the power is off and it is unplugged unless they have been properly discharged.

While you have your computer open, and especially if you ever had it upgraded with a 2nd hard drive or an add-on video card, check to ensure these add-on parts were installed with adequate clearance from other adjacent parts. I recently repaired a computer that someone had installed an add-on Video and USB Card next to each other. They were so close that the fan on the video card was being blocked by the USB Card, which caused the fan motor to burn out prematurely.

Although not a heat issue, you might as well use the canned air to clean your keyboard as well. Vacuum it first, and then blow it out with the canned air. I suggest you get a keyboard skin or cover to protect it from liquid spills and small foreign objects such as paper-clips.

While most people would agree that keeping your computer clean and cool sounds like common sense, it just gets neglected until their computer fails and you end up paying a PC Technician to do it for you as part of an untimely but preventable repair. Hopefully, I was able to nudge a few to take a look at their computer and take a few easy steps towards a cleaner, cooler, and more reliable computer.

The Simple Steps in Monitoring the Temperature of a CPU

CPU temperature monitoring is important to avoid serious damages in a computer system. In addition, it is necessary to be sure that the different components of a PC is functioning properly and efficiently. In order to perform this task, users are encouraged to use efficient temperature monitor software. However, they cannot use them effectively if they are not sure about the functionality of the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (also called ACPI) in a computer system's Basic Input/Output System (also known as BIOS). Know more about this task by exploring the different generations of monitoring software available in the commercial market.

The First Generation CPU Temperature Monitor Software

The features of this software are basic, which include the display of the accurate value of the CPU temp. Such software cannot define events, alarms as well as actions. This software only tells the temperature value if it is too high and at risk of overclocking and overheating. When using this software, it is important to be aware of its warnings to avoid damaging the components of a CPU.

The Second Generation CPU Temperature Monitor Software

Since the use of first generation of CPU temp monitor software is not helpful in preventing CPUs from problems that are related to overheating and overclocking, computer software companies introduce the second generation CPU temperature monitor software. This computer application is more efficient and helpful than first generation software because it is capable of controlling and regulating conditions automatically. In addition, they are capable of keeping a CPU stable despite heat problems.

The Third Generation CPU Temperature Monitor Software

The third generation CPU temp monitor software is the most efficient and helpful of all because it has the capability to interact with the important components of a system's motherboard such as the fan control circuits and its sensors. To help consumers maximize the use of their computer systems or laptops, most computer manufacturers offer this software to their consumers for free when they buy CPUs or computer units.

Additional Information and Other Important Details About Monitoring CPU Temperature

In order to improve their overall performances, many international semiconductor companies offer sensors that computer users can use to detect the temperature of their CPUs. Some of the companies that are known for producing efficient and high quality sensors include National Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor and Analog Devices. However, before using such devices, it is important to seek assistance from computer experts to have ideas about the type of sensor that will suit one's CPU.

Experience the Ultimate Printing With New Age Printers

A printer is a computer peripheral which produces a hard copy of document stored in digital form on paper, plastic, cloths or transparencies. Printers are generally classified by their underlying printing technology. Previously, liquid ink was used in the printing machines. With the advent of new printing technology, many innovative technologies have arrived. One of the latest and most popular technologies is the advanced laser technology. In this kind of printing machine, the Xerographic principle is used. Laser printing machines are available in both colour and monochrome varieties.

In the market, several brands are available and the most popular printer manufacturing companies are HP, Epson, Intex etc. Among them, HP is one of the best selling printers manufacturers - in both inkjet and laser forms.

There are two category of printing machines that are available nowadays. The two primary categories are impact and non-impact printers. The printing machines which are using impact technologies work by touching the paper to fabricate text and images on it. Dot matrix printers come under this category. On the other hand, the non-impact printers do not actually touch the paper, they generally use the blower or bubble technology to take a print out. Both Inkjet and laser printers fall under this category.

Apart from the Inkject and laser printers, there are many types of printing machines that are available in the market. The most common types are Solid Ink printers, Dye-sunlimation printer, Inkless printer, Electrolytic printer, Spark printer, Barcode printer etc. The mostly used printers are Inkjet printer. Inkjet printers that are operated by variably-sized droplet of liquid or molten material (ink). They are the most common type of computer printer for the general consumers due to their high quality of output, capability of printing in vivid colours, ease of use and low cost. The due sublimation printer uses heat to transfer dye to a medium such as a plastic card, paper or canvas. The process is usually to lay one colour at a time using a ribbon that has colour panels.

Now that we have gathered valuable information about the printers, we will be able to make sound decisions when it comes to their usage.

The Infamous Blue Screen of Death - Diagnose and Repair It

The dreaded Blue Screen of Death has probably happened to everyone who owns a computer, at least once. If it happens more than once then you have a problem and you will need to know how to diagnose and repair the infamous Blue Screen of Death error screen.

There are only a few causes of the infamous Blue Screen of Death:

- Bad Memory
- Wrong Power Supply
- Over Heating - CPU Fan
- Incompatible Hardware or Software
- Windows Registry

The first thing you are normally instructed to do is to reboot your system. If you are able to get back in to Windows and continue working, the problem is not necessarily over. Bad memory, incompatible hardware or faulty fans are most likely not the problem, the main cause of the Blue Screen of Death is the Windows registry.

Your Windows registry stores all your user profiles, systems hardware and software settings and configurations, and stores all this information as a single entry for each setting in the registry. Over time your registry can become bloated, filled with unneeded entries, or be infected with corrupt or malicious entries from adware, spyware, viruses, or other malicious software.

Manually working in your Windows registry is not recommended unless you know exactly what you are doing. You can download and install a registry cleaner from the internet that is compatible with your version of Windows. You should create a back up of the registry before you attempt to repair the Blue Screen of Death.

Just What Does Dust Do to a PC?

PCs hate dust, but they are very good at accumulating it. Every time their internal fans turn, drawing in air to keep its inner workings cool, they also draw in thousands of dust particles as well. You may have heard before that dust can slow a computer down and affect its performance but how bad is the dust problem really?

One of a computer repair person's most common tasks is to clean out a dirty, dusty PC. Given that dust is the documented number one cause of PC failure, it is a frequent issue that a computer tech encounters when he or she first opens up a PC case to begin a diagnosis.

Just how badly dust affects a computer's performance was recently explained to me by a friend who makes a very nice living from repairing all kinds of computers, many suffering from problems related to dust disease.

He had a personal computer in the shop because its owner felt it was running too slowly and various software fixes did not seem to be improving matters very much.

As I had been asking about the effect of dust on the average computer my friend said this might be a good machine to run a simple test on, as it belonged to a person who had a habit of smoking around his computer. My friend said even before opening it up he was pretty sure he was going to find a good amount of dust inside. Sure enough there was. The dust was present in layers of varying thickness all over the inside of the computer. The fans were covered in a dark brown layer so thick I was personally surprised that they were working at all.

To run his test the tech closed the case back up and took measurements of the CPU temperature and fan speed that the computer was currently running at without any programs running at all. The CPU clocked in at 118.4° F (48° C) and the fan speed was 2,857 rpm.

The clean up took a while, not such great news for the owner since my friend charges by the hour, but I was impressed by just how clean the CPU and heat sinks looked once he was done. Painstakingly he cleared as much of the dirt dust and grime out of computer's insides as he could.

Once he was done he closed the case and ran his measurements again. The CPU was now running at 102.2° F (39° C) and the fans at 3,276 rpm. A simple cleaning had reduced the temperature of the CPU by an extra 16.2° F (9° C) and increased the fan speed by 419 rpm.

According to my friend, this simple cleaning would increase the speed of the computer and the response times of the programs it ran, as well as extending the life of the CPU and its heat sink fans. The cost? Two hours at $60 an hour. As a bonus my friend said he would be giving the newly speedy PC's owner a couple of tips when he returned to pick it up. Firstly, don't smoke around it, but even if you stop that the dust will still build up again if left unchecked. Secondly, he was also going to give the owner a sample of a product he had recently encountered, a self stick filter that cost under $10 for 3 sheets that went over the computer's air intakes to trap dust before it entered.

Daily Computer Maintenance - Tips You Should Know to Optimize Pc Performance

As we all know that, computers are the same as human beings which need to be taken care of. If so, it will always work at the maximum optimization status and extent the lifespan. On the contrary, firstly, this will some serous problems appearing like some important data lost improvably, computer crashes every two or three days, or unable to complete the scheduled work; secondly, this will significantly shorten the lifespan of the computer. So we can say that daily computer maintenance is necessary in order to optimize PC performance.

Normally, computer maintenance contains two parts: hardware and software maintenance.

Hardware maintenance means that it is needed to do some jobs like cleaning dust. After being used for sometime, the computer may get dusty inside for the fan that pulls hot air outsides are always pulling in air, which laden with tiny particles of dust. When these particles cling to electronics, they act like a blanket to hold in heat. And the dusts always stay at the biggest heat producers like CPU, heatsink, and video card. So a cleaning dust is necessary regularly in order to maintain the PC performance. If possible, please keep the area around your computer as dust-free as possible.

Software maintenance, including protecting the computer from being attached by virus, and regularly deleting the unnecessary system junk files, running a disk defragment is necessary in optimizing PC performance. Here, there is no need to talk about the importance of the anti-virus program to the computer for it is known to all that it is a must in order to protect the computer, but instead, we will particularly discuss the parts that always be neglected by lots of PC users when maintaining the computer: junk files cleanup and disk defragmentation.

When using the computer it is inevitably for us to surf websites and download programs, which always bring some useless temporary file on the computer. They do nothing but harm to the computer. So it is necessary for us to clean up the system junk files in a regular basic.

Besides, a disk defragmentation is indispensable in daily computer maintenance for it will rearrange the contents on the hard disk in order to making a complete file always stays at the same single place coherently and contiguously, Hence it will be much easier to get access to when trying to input or output it. Therefore, the computer may always run at faster speed and also extent the lifespan of the hard disk and the computer.
